WHAT WOULD I DO IN THIS PATHWAY?

This Career Cluster focuses on building linkages in information technology occupations for entry level, technical and professional careers related to the design, development, support and management of hardware, software, multimedia and systems integration services. 

In the information technology career pathway your options are wide open.  Some examples are software applications trainer/educator, computer user support specialist, software developer, game design, website administrator, videographer, network administrator, database administrator cybersecurity, computer programmer, social media manager, electrical engineering technician and many other career options.

WHAT CAN I DO AFTER I GRADUATE?

Something that is unique to Career-Tech education is every pathway can be utilized in any career.   You can further your education at a technical school, community college or university to obtain certifications, Associates or Bachelor’s degree in an information technology pathway of your choice.  Examples are (but not limited to):

●     Certificates:  Microsoft Office Specialist, Google Certified Trainer, Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), CompTIA certifications, Google Professional Cloud Architect, GIAC Security Essentials, ITIL 4 Foundation Level Certification, Project Management Professional (PMP)

●     Associate’s Degrees: Applied Sciences in Computer Technology with a focus in Networking, Cybersecurity, Programming, or Robotics, IT Project Management, Information Technology, Cybersecurity.

●     Bachelor’s Degrees: Computer Science, Cloud Computing, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Information Technology, Interactive Media Design

WHAT CAN I DO WITH FURTHER TRAINING?

With further training you could be an IT consultant, start your very own IT business, be a project manager or administrator in any IT field, and many other possibilities.
