PROGRAM OVERVIEW

The Health care field is a very diverse and growing area of career opportunities. Some of the program goals are to provide basic technical skills necessary to secure an entry-level employment in the health care industry, instill the desire for life long learning and continuing education and to provide insight into the health care career of your choice and to provide a foundation for higher college education.

PROGRAM TRAINING

Students receive training in the following areas basic medical assisting, patient care skills, medical terminology, cultural diversity, emergency response, medical math, phlebotomy, home health, nurse assisting & electrocardiograph. If all criteria are met then students will receive the Ohio Department of Health Nurse Aide Certification required for acceptance into most nursing programs.

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

Students would be able to obtain jobs in a variety of health care settings. Graduates have attained employment immediately after graduation in doctor offices, clinics, pharmacies, group homes, hospitals and nursing homes. Many graduates have gone on to college. Career opportunities include Medical Assisting, Nurse Assisting, Licensed Practical Nursing, Registered Nursing, Physician Assisting, and Physician. Other careers that students may choose are in areas such as Phlebotomy, Laboratory Technology, Radiology, Pharmacy and Surgical Technology.

CAREER SALARIES

Entry level positions would have salaries ranging from $10.00 to $17.00. Salaries after college range from $35,000 to $150,000. Salaries are directly related to the educational level, the higher the degree the more you would make.
