WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT SPECIALISTS
  1. Career-technical centers are workforce development specialists because we specialize in providing training and education for specific careers. We offer hands-on, practical training in a variety of technical and vocational fields, preparing students for jobs in industries such as healthcare, manufacturing, construction, and information technology.

  2. We partner with local businesses and industries to ensure the training we provide is relevant and in-demand, and also offer job placement assistance to graduates. (from OACTE - Vocational education grew rapidly from 1963-1983.  Since then, efforts have been focused on improving and modifying programs in response to the needs of the workforce, as well as teach students attributes necessary for success.)

  3. They provide continuing education and retraining opportunities for individuals already in the workforce. This helps to meet the current and future workforce needs of the community.

  4. By providing specialized training and education, career-technical centers help to bridge the skills gap and prepare individuals for in-demand jobs

  5. From Oacte- Now, about 120,000 students are enrolled in a CTE program, the majority juniors and seniors in High School, representing about 25% of all Ohio High School Students.  Throughout its history, CTE has helped build Ohio’s workforce, focusing on the skills local business needs to prosper.
