Southern Hills Career and Technical Center

We are so excited this year to be able to offer students the chance to be a part of our school’s chapter of Drug Free Clubs of America (DFCA)! This is an uplifting program created by firefighters for schools to focus on rewarding students who are making drug-free choices, and ensuring that those teens have a solid plan to stand up to peer pressure when they may need it the most. From our perspective, this is a very important program to protect them in a drug-related situation, to be recognized for being responsible, to show colleges and employers their strength of character, and so that others will know of and respect their drug-free choice. One of the best things about DFCA is that it allows us to tailor the program’s details to fit our unique school environment and community. Southern Hills has plans to reward student members at school as well as establishing other incentives and recognition with local businesses.

We are thankful to be working with medical assistant students from the Brown & Clermont Adult Career Campuses, who will play a major role throughout the year in carrying out this special effort. We also want to offer our gratitude to the Southern Hills Board of Education for their generous financial support, making DFCA affordable for our families. If you have questions regarding DFCA, reach out to Frankie Stephens, Director of Student Services.
