🌉 Bridge Building Contest – Round 1 Complete! 🌉🛠️
This morning we kicked off the first round of our Bridge Building Contest, Ripley 5th–8th grade students impressed us with their creativity and engineering skills!
The Challenge:
Students were tasked with building a bridge using only 25 balsa wood sticks and glue—no extras allowed!
Testing Process:
🔹 Each bridge was weighed before testing
🔹 The bridge was placed on the testing machine (TM)
🔹 Two ropes and a 5‑gallon bucket were attached
🔹 Sand was slowly added until the bridge failed
🔹 The final sand weight determined the maximum load applied
📋 Each entry received a score card documenting the bridge weight and maximum load held.
Great teamwork, problem-solving, and determination were on display today. We can’t wait to see how the next round goes—stay tuned! 💪✨
Next round is this afternoon.

Being an Ag Mechanics instructor isn’t just turning wrenches and working on equipment. There’s a lot of book work involved too—plans, measurements, safety lessons, math, and technical knowledge. Hands‑on skills start with what’s learned in the classroom.

pizza
Visual Design students learn how to edit video and audio using Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe Audition. For this project, students created a brand guide and logo for a mock pizza company located in Florida and Louisiana. They were then asked to create an original social media promo using the client’s photos. Visual designers can empathize with a brand’s audience in a way that artificial intelligence cannot. https://www.facebook.com/share/r/1B2v2BBXTF/
