SHCTC Information Technology students designed, built, and programmed a custom RFID time clock system from the ground up. Using Arduino, RFID scanners, and 3D printing, they created both the hardware and software to help students clock in and out and track their work-based learning hours. To make it even more impactful, IT partnered with Clinical Health students, creating custom ID badges uniquely programmed with each student’s ID number. Now, health students can simply scan their badge to log hours—using a system engineered by IT students.
