Gracie Blackburn, 2025 Early Childhood Education graduate, represented SHCTC at the Skills USA National Competition in Atlanta this past week after receiving 1st place at the State Competition during the school year. Gracie competed in the Early Childhood Education competition where she had to complete a test to demonstrate her knowledge in the field, create a lesson plan along with teacher made materials for the lesson, and implement the lesson plan in front of a panel of judges. Gracie was 6th out of the 27 competitors which is a HUGE success! When attending nationals, you are competing against the best of the best across nation so achieving such success is an accomplishment that needs to be celebrated! Gracie, everyone at SHCTC is so proud of you. Not only are you going to be a great leader, but you are also going to be an amazing future teacher!

SHCTC added a new business partner today with Walden Electronics located right here in Georgetown next to the career center. David, Paul, and Anita were great hosts and gave us a great tour of their facility. Check out waldom.com for career opportunities.
