As students prepare for high-demand careers at SHCTC, it's also important to learn how to find a healthy life-work balance. Thank you to Becky Cropper with the Brown County ESC and Deanna Vietze with Brown County Board of MHAS for speaking to Ms. Germann's seniors as part of their weekly Adulting 101 session. Being literate isn't just about books; it's about mastering money matters too. 💵 In a recent 'Adulting 101' session, Ms. Germann's senior English students dove into the world of credit. Paula Trapp and Brice Owens from First State Bank focused on building and maintaining credit scores as young adults. 📈 These students are on their way to financial empowerment! #loveshctc
April the 5th SHCTC held a Balsa Wood Bridge Building Contest. The goal was to build a bridge made from balsa wood to see who's bridge could hold the most weight. Students in 5th - 8th grade from our home districts were invited to participate. There were around 225 students in attendance. The event was awesome and the students had a great time breaking the bridges. The event was captured on FB live, please check out the pictures of the event below.
Results are:
1st Overall - Ellie & Ross from Georgetown Bridge Weight of 8.7g and held 46.2lbs. for a ratio of 5.310g/lb - Strength to Weight Ratio
2nd Overall - Emma Schweickart from Eastern Bridge Weight of 28.5g and held 56.8 lbs. for a ratio of 1.99g/lb - Held the Most
Best Design - Danica Kirk from Eastern
Best Bridge Name - Zack Pritchard and JT Siders from Fayetteville

Exploring the concept of the mole in chemistry, students not only learned about this fundamental unit but also learned how to sew. They crafted adorable mole plushies and built intricate dioramas. And that's not all – their handouts were packed with chemistry concepts and engaging problems to solve. #loveshctc
